The final four fixtures of the Fred Conway Cumberland Cup second round were played on Saturday.

Cumberland County League Premier side Whitehaven Miners Social entertained higher league opponents when West Lancashire League Premier outfit Whitehaven AFC popped by for this derby tie on Saturday.

And it was Miners that got themselves the victory winning 3-1 with goals from Alex Parr (2), and Lewis Park. Kian Goulding netted Whitehaven AFC solitary goal.

Elsewhere, Kirkoswald, who are third in the Westmorland League Division One, welcomed Cumberland County League leaders Unisun Athletic to the Old Show Ground. Two first half goals by Kian Maker put Carlisle based Unisun into the quarter final, winning the fixture 2-0.

In an all-Westmorland League Division Three meeting, Alston Moor beat Eden Valley 8-0 with six goals from Aaron Collier with Tom Anderson and Archie White also finding the net.

Cumberland County League Premier rivals Maryport Athletic and Wigton Harriers met each other in this second round tie with Maryport winning the game 4-1.

Tom Southwell, Calum Casson, Aaron Hoad-Williams and Ciaran Laverty were all on the scoresheet for Athletic with Wigton’s goal coming from Harvey Harrison.

Alston Moor, Maryport Athletic, Unisun Athletic and Whitehaven Miners Social join Carlisle United, Penrith AFC, Windscale and Workington Reds in the Quarter Final with the draw set to be announced by the Cumberland FA in the next few days.

Elsewhere on Saturday, there was some Cumberland County League Conway Cup action as Dearham United hosted Workington Reds Reserves. It was the visitors that booked themselves a semi-final spot winning 3-1 with goals from Scott Wiliamson (2) and Sam Christian. Jack Brown replied for Dearham.
