Qzone hosted Buffs A in the First Division of the Carlisle and District Billiards League with the visitors desperate for points.
For while Qzone are in mid table mediocrity, Buffs A are hovering on to the cusp of the relegation zone.
First up was Bob Sewell aainst Giles Finneghan and he got off to a fantastic start, compiling a 36 break with some acute in-offs and silky canons. He followed-up with a 30 break, as the balls seemed to float around the table like butterflies with slippers on, and with the score of 100-38 it was 1-0 to Buffs.
Then when Brian Sloan set off with a 26 break for the Buffs, it looked like Qzone were up a creek without an oar!
Paul Wright had other ideas, however, as he swiftly compiled breaks of 22, 24 and 26 to win the game 100-70, and make it 1-1.
There was no let up in the next as Paul Corbishley beat Lawrie Key 100-71, and Chris Forrester made it 3-1 to Qzone with a tight 100-88 victory over David Hucul.
Mike Doherty played the last game for Buffs but it was a win for Qzone for a final score of Buffs A 1, Qzone 6. Thanks to Paul Wright for the report.

In the battle of the number one players, Matt Lowrie started well against Tony Fisher, including a 30 break that put the visiting player on the back foot. With some excellent red ball potting, Tony got back in the contest before Lowrie wrapped up the game 80-73, for 2-0 to the home side.
In a close early battle between Davey Edgar and Lawrence Waters, the Maggies man didn’t help his cause by playing the opponents ball on several occasions.

Ian Cleminson pulled one back for the visitors, a flying start helping him to victory over Original’s Dan Sanderson. The Qzone player could not pull it back and Cleminson won 80-45.
