Barrow Raiders Ladies are organising a series of open trials ahead of the 2024 season.

The trials offer opportunities for players who want to be part of the Raiders Ladies setup, with chances to be part of both the first team and reserves.

In addition the club continues to strengthen the female player pathway across the area, and there are now also plans in place to run an U19s side from next season.

Barrow Ladies will play in Group 1 of the Betfred Women’s Super League next season after earning promotion from Group 2 through the play offs in 2023.

Group 1 offers the highest level of female club rugby league in the UK, and it will feature the Raiders for the first time in 2024.

The open trials will take place from 11.30am – 1.30pm on Saturday 25 November at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium.

They will be led by head coach Amanda Wilkinson – who has agreed a new deal to remain at the club ahead of the forthcoming season. She will be assisted at the trials by her trusted coaching staff.

Players must be aged 17yrs+ to feature for the Betfred Women’s Super League team and reserves team, but players aged 16 are encouraged to come along.

The League Express Readers Poll for 2023 is now live, and Barrow Ladies head coach Amanda Wilkinson has been nominated for Women’s Coach of the Year.

This is testament to the hard work of Amanda and her team over the past 12 months.
