Find out how to have a green Christmas

A workshop offering tips so people can have a greener Christmas will be held next month.

Another Way will hold an online workshop on Thursday, December 7 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

From alternatives for wrapping paper, cards, gifts, decorations, crackers, games, food and your tree, you will find out how to easily do it differently and reduce your impact on the environment.

Amy Bray, 21, is the founder of Another Way. She said: “The big demon at Christmas is waste. According to the Environment Agency, an additional 30 per cent of waste is generated at this time of year in the UK.

“The world cannot cope with the amount of waste we are producing. We are running out of places for it to go. Landfill causes carbon emissions in addition to those created during the manufacture of all these extra products we buy and throw away. We all know carbon emissions are causing the climate change impacts we are seeing on an increasingly frequent basis around the world.

“Every action, no matter how small, each one of us takes to reduce waste will make a difference. So, let’s redefine Christmas this year and make it as sustainable as we all are able.”
