The Northern Premier League has postponed the next two scheduled fixtures involving Marske United.
It says the postponements are to allow enquiries to take place into the recently announced takeover of the Marske club.
The League has said that it will make no further comment on the situation until the enquiry is complete.
Paty of the new ownership included a share sale and the club had recently revealed that almost 10,000 £1 shares had been snapped up.
Marske later issued a statement which said: “The club received information from the NPL that our licence to play has been suspended.
“This was immediately followed by a request for further information from the League regarding the recent change in ownership following the departure of the previous chairman.
“As a result our upcoming home fixtures against Worksop Town and Lancaster City have been postponed.
“The club is co-operating fully and our team of volunteers are working hard to complete the information required.
“We are working to resolve the issue in co-operation with the League and the Football Association who have ben contacted for further guidance.”
Marske recently beat Workington 3-0 and shortly afterwards their defender Camron Gbadebo joined the west Cumbrians.
They are currently fourth bottom of the table, nine points behind the Reds.
