Workington Reds are back at Borough Park this afternoon for the first time in seven weeks.
Volunteers have had to work hard to make the pitch playable after a large amount of rain on Friday and overnight.
But the pitch was declared playable early this morning and the NPL Premier Division clash with Morpeth will go ahead.
Reds have played five successive away games since they last played in front of their own fans, and last week’s home clash with Hyde was called off because of a frozen pitch.
Reds had played Morpeth in the second game of the season when they slipped to a 3-0 defeat in the North East which was a major disappointment after the opening day 5-0 home win over Ashton United.
Since those early days both teams have now clocked up 18 games with Morpeth 13th a point better off than Reds who are 15th.
Manager Danny Grainger will be looking to celebrate the return to Borough Park with a win, and follow-up on Tuesday when they host Worksop Town.
