Barrow gave an update on two of their players who had to be stretchered off at Wrexham yesterday with head injuries.
David Worrall and Luca Stephenson were both injured, causing concern after collisions, during the 4-1 defeat to their promotion rivals.
During the defeat Barrow were forced into two changes Worrall was the first to leave after a clash of heads following a Wrexham free-kick in the first half.
That contributed to 14 minutes of time added on at the end and from being 1-0 down Wrexham scored three goals to turn the game their way.
Worrall’s replacement Stephenson was then also forced off after he sustained a head injury in a clash with Wrexham winger James McLean after half-time.
In an assessment later Barrow provided an update on both players in a statement on X. They said: “We can confirm that David Worrall is currently at the hospital being assessed, but he is conscious and talking.
“Luca Stephenson is also up and talking and did not need to go to the hospital. Wishing you both a speedy recovery.”
Wrexham owner Ryan Reynolds sent his well-wishes to the Barrow duo tweeting “Great start to 24 for Wrexham…Hoping Barrow AFC players, David Worrall and Luca Stephenson are okay. Scary few minutes there.”
