A Kendal man has admitted attending his ex-partner’s home in the town while armed with a knife which he then thrust into a door.
Daniel Hill, 26, pleaded guilty to three offences when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today.
Hill admitted affray — having used or threatened unlawful violence to others — along with damaging property and also possession of cocaine.
All charges relate to an incident at an address in Kendal on November 26 last year.
Hill, who attended the hearing remotely over a video link from custody, was not legally represented in court.
But he entered guilty pleas after a judge gave him a verbal summary of the prosecution’s case, with which he said he agreed.
This was that he attended at his former partner’s home, intoxicated through alcohol and/or drugs. The woman had not wanted Hill there, and dialled 999 seeking assistance. Hill had then appeared — and been threatening — with a knife which was then thrust into a door, causing the blade to snap.
“I’m guilty to what is alleged,” Hill, of Town View, Kendal, told Judge Nicholas Barker.
Judge Barker adjourned the case for the preparation of a probation service pre-sentence report. Hill is due to receive his punishment at the crown court on February 2 and in the meantime remains remanded in custody.
