As part of an investigation into a number of burglary and theft reports in Carlisle on a single day, police have arrested and charged a man.

The incidents happened on January 5 in the Warwick Road and Brunton Crescent area.

Simon Highmore, 34, of Melbourne Road, has been charged with various offences in connection with the reports.

A number of items, including a Shark vacuum cleaner, a tool bag containing hand tools and a multi cutter, and two boxed Makita power drills were recovered as part of the investigation, which are suspected to have been stolen locally.

Police said they would like to identify the owner of the items.

If the items belong to you, or you know the owner, please contact DC 2429 Wheatcroft online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it , quoting incident number 22 of the 5th January 2024 or call 101 option 2, extension 42429.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers , anonymously, on 0800 555 11
