
Despite the cold weather and numerous postponements three fixtures were still played in the Cumberland County with plenty of goals.
In the Premier Division, Aspatria were back to winning ways after a 4-2 victory against Workington AFC Reserves. Richard Hudsonand Andrew Trestianu both scored a brace for Aspatria with Chad Grisdale scoring both of Workington’s goals.
A double from Ryan Hall gave Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves a 2-1 win against Gosforth. Jack Denwood was on the scoresheet for Gosforth.
In Division One, only one of the four scheduled fixtures went ahead when Whitehaven AFC Reserves welcomed Windscale Reserves and it was the home side who took all three points after a 6-0 win thanks to goals from Liam King (2), Joe Dobinson (2), Tom Martin and Shaun Carter.
The other Division One fixtures – Bransty Rangers v Dearham Utd, Keswick v Mirehouse and Whitehaven Miners Social Development v Silloth – were all postponed due to the weather.
The weather also postponed both Benevolent Cup semi finals that were scheduled -. Maryport Athletic v Whitehaven Miners Social and Wigton Harriers v Cockermouth – and they will now be played next Saturday (Jan 27).
