A Cumbrian builder has helped Calvert Lakes revamp a unique wheelchair challenge course.
Atkinson Building Contractors set to work on the course near Keswick, which was first built over 25 years ago, to make sure it remains accessible for many years to come.
Atkinson’s planning and design manager Tony Ripley said: “Everyone involved with the refurbishment work were delighted to be able make the facility
accessible to wheelchair users again.”
Sean Day, of Calvert Lakes, added: “The wheelchair challenge course is a unique activity for people with profound disabilities.
“It helps build the skills, self-confidence and resilience needed every day to meet and overcome the challenges life presents.
“The support from Atkinson’s has ensured that thousands of people with disabilities will be able to continue gaining these essential skills for many more years, while having plenty of fun and enjoyment with the Calvert Trust at the same time.”
