24 goals in action-packed Cumberland County League

It was another action-packed Saturday in the Cumberland County League with 24 goals scored over six games.

In the Premier Division, Aspatria continued their good form and title challenge by beating Unisun Athletic 3-1.

Andrew Trestianu put Aspatria 1-0 up after 30 minutes then Logan Dixon doubled it eight minutes later.

On the hour mark, Trestianu got his second of the afternoon and Aspatria third before Tom McDonald scored an 85th minute consolation goal for Unisun.

Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves continued their push for the title with a 2-0 win against Wigton Harriers.

Michael Burns scored after 27 minutes and Luke Youdale came off the bench and scored four minutes into his appearance in the 78 minute. 

Maryport Athletic beat Gosforth 2-0 thanks to Ellis Short netting in the 28th minute and then Logan Bosward scoring in the 60th minute.

Workington Reds Reserves and Whitehaven Miners Social played out a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Harry Watson, Brad Keenan and Zak Walker were all on the scoresheet for the Reds while a brace for Lewis Park a goal from Alan Cardy helped salvage a point for the Miners.

In Division One, Cockermouth kept their promotion push going with a 5-0 against Windscale Reserves with goals from Sam Wright and Ciaran Bertram.

Luke Graham continued his fine goal scoring record with a hat-trick.

Elsewhere, goals from Jack Brown, Daniel Little, Matthew Oglanby, Alfie Green and Shane Paden Gale gave Dearham United a 5-0 win against Whitehaven Miners Social Development.

The games between Bransty Rangers and Keswick, and Mirehouse against Whitehaven AFC Reserves were postponed due to unplayable pitch conditions.

Whitehaven AFC Reserve host Bransty Rangers in Division One on Tuesday evening, kick off is 7.45pm.
