A young Workington boxer has been awarded a prestigious trophy for her dedication to the sport.
Marshall Miller, 14, was awarded the John Harrison Memorial Trophy.
The trophy is named after the former head coach of Workington Amateur Boxing Club, who had been involved with the club for over 50 years. He was also a well respected judge.
Head coach Joe Dryden said: “Marshall is in the gym five days a week, not only to train but to also help with the junior boxers, always learning, always working hard and a well respected member of the club.”

Meanwhile, two of the club’s boxers took part in the Magic Hatton show in Hyde, Manchester, against some good local talented boxers.
First up Leon Emerson put together a nice bit of technical work over the three rounds, following his coaches’ instructions to get the deserved win.
Following suit, Elliot Murray took a little longer to get going into his rhythm, but as the bout progressed he showed his skills to pick up the win and complete a successful night for the club.
Coaching team Al, Chris, Dain and Joe transported and prepares the lad for the show and fellow carded boxers Alfie, Ben, Billy and Ellis made the trip down to support their team mates.
