Teddy bear heaven at Mitchells’ next Vintage & Antique Toy Sale

If you go down to Mitchells Vintage & Antique Toy Sale this month you are sure of a big surprise…..

There are over 100 teddies for sale, including a really big Steiff panda bear, plus a metre high Charlie Bears Rabbit.

And if bears aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other vintage and antique toys for sale including 00 gauge model railways, diecast models, dolls, comics as well as movie and TV themed toys including Star Trek.

In fact, almost 700 lots are on offer at the sale on Thursday, February 22.
 
The star lots amongst a private collection of over a 100 Steiff and Charlie Bears are a Steiff panda bear, measuring 67cm high, with an estimate of £70-£100 and a Charlie Bears Rabbit Hopkins, measuring 98cm high, which is expected to sell for £80-£120. 
 
TV and movie themed toys for sale include seventeen lots of boxed Star Trek diecast models by Eaglemoss with estimates ranging from £40-60 each.

An Evil Knievel Scramble Van with original box and in very good condition is expected to make £100-£150.

An original Lone Ranger action figure with hat, mask, guns and box has an estimate of £40-£60 and Tonto from the Lone Ranger Rides Again Series in an original box by Marx’s toys should make £70-£90.

Antique lots to be sold include a Bing Goliath Static Engine circa 1908 with an estimate of £250 – £350 and a circa 1947 Wavex Wizard Trike with enclosed mudguards which should make £120-£180.

A large, four-storey dolls’ house with a very good collection of furniture has an estimate of £150-£250.

A collection of laser discs, mostly science fiction, including Back to The Future, Star Trek, Close Encounters and ET Special Collectors’ Edition should sell for £50-80. 

Also for sale are Sylvanian Families, a rocking horse, Dinky toys, comics, Action Man and tinplate toys.

Lots will also be on view in the saleroom the day before the sale on Wednesday February 21from 10am-7pm and throughout the auction.
