Northside has been hosting a special three-day training course for the promising young riders embarking on a speedway career.

The home of the Workington Comets has seen a mix of 125cc, 250cc and 500cc riders involved and they will all be competing in this year’s British Youth Championship.

There are two days on track – yesterday and tomorrow – with coaches Scott Nicholls, Paul Hurry and Tom Brennan in attendance.

Meanwhile today will concentrate on the gym,  working on the riders’ fitness with coach James Luckman, and a session on bike maintenance and preparation with the coaches as well as the SCB Technical team of Jim McGregor and John Jack.

British Youth Boss Neil Vatcher said: “This is a fantastic way for our riders to prepare for what is going to be a busy season, with nine rounds of the British Youth Championship planned as well as many other events during the season.

“We are very privileged to have some great sponsors on board again in 2024 for without their support, these type of events would not be possible.”

The following have been thanked for their support: Nuneaton Speedway Supporters Club, Wessex Marine, Northern Scaffolding Solutions, Brian Royle, Friends of Speedway, Rentruck, Ignite Insurance Solutions Ltd, AGF Plant Ltd, Gordon Pairman and In memory of Speedway Nut for their continued support in 2024.
