
Two people have been arrested after a four-month-old boy died.
Police have launched an investigation after they were called by the ambulance service on February 20 at around 4.30am to the village of Backbarrow, near Ulverston.
The boy was taken to Furness General Hospital in Barrow but died.
A 36-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child. They have been released on bail.
A police spokesman said: “An investigation is underway by a dedicated team of detectives and other specialists in order to establish the full circumstances of the death in full consultation with the coroner. Enquiries continue.”
