A man has been banned from a Cumbrian town’s Greggs store – and its only supermarket – for two years to clamp down on his criminal behaviour.
Cumbria police have secured a criminal behaviour order against 53-year-old Mark Timney.
He is banned from entering Greggs and the Co-op on Main Street, Egremont for two years from 28 February 24.
He is also barred from entering any shops which take part in the Whitehaven and Workington Shop Watch Scheme or any shops displaying the Whitehaven and Workington Shop Watch Scheme logo.
PC Andrea Hobbs, of Copeland Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This criminal behaviour order was a great outcome and is a useful tool to place restrictions on Timney to prevent further criminality and help protect business owners and local residents.
“I would encourage anyone who witnesses the terms of such a court order being broken to contact the police immediately. The punishment for breaking the terms of an order can be up to five years in prison.”
Anyone who witnesses Mark Timney breaching the terms of his order should contact the police.
