Only three games were played in the West Cumberland Sunday League at the weekend because of waterlogged pitches.

Northside overwhelmed Salterbeck 9-0 in the semi-final of the Albert Murphy Trophy and will meet Dearham in the final.

Max Litt, Owen Birkett and Evan Stephenson each grabbed a couple and there were single strikes from Johnny Donat, Tony Berwick and Cain Pears.

The final of the Albert Murphy Trophy will be staged at Workington’s Borough Park this coming Tuesday night with a 7pm kick-off.

For the former Egremont League sides their final will be staged at the Falcon Complex, Egremont on Sunday, March 31 when Thornhill and Parkside will be battling for the Kenny Hailes Memorial Trophy.

In a Division One game on Sunday, Sun Inn were 3-1 winners at Seaton with goals from Louie Elliott (2) and Jackson Slack. Seaton replied through Jonny Walton.

The only other game was in the League Cup tier three in which Royal Oak beat The Sun 4-1 with goals from Carl Lofthouse (3) and Dale Anderton. Brandon O’Fee replied for the Sun.

Fixtures for this Sunday are:

  • Premier Division – FC Cosmos v Deer Orchard; Moresby v Lowca; Thornhill v Northside.
  • Division One – Swan Inn v King’s Arms.
  • League Cup Tier One –  Dearham v Parkside.
  • League Cup Tier Two – Senhouse v Butchers; Bluebell v Sun Inn.
  • League Cup Tier Three – Royal Oak v Flimby; The Sun v Salterbeck.
