
Cumbrian firms have been shortlisted in the prestigious Farm & Deli Retailer Awards.
The county firms are among the 74 successful businesses span the categories, including baker; butcher, cheesemonger; delicatessen, farm shop, fishmonger, food hall, greengrocer, online business and independent local shop/village store, covering seven UK regions.
Cumbrian businesses nominated include:
- Roast Mutton, Kendal in the butcher category
- Lovingly Artisan Bakery, Plumgarths, Kendal and Altrincham Market, Manchester in the baker category
- Rattle Ghyll Fine Food and Deli, Ambleside in the delicatessen category
- Low Sizergh Barn, Sizergh in the large farm shop category
- Bells fishmongers, Carlisle in the fishmonger category
Robert Unwin, of Roast Mutton, said: “The entire team is over the moon, and we want to say a huge thank you to all of our brilliant customers and members of the public who’ve supported us in our journey over the last couple of years. So I guess it’s a case of keeping everything crossed for us and we’ll see what happens in April.’’

Winners will be announced at the Farm Shop & Deli Show in Birmingham on April 29.
