
A £14.3 million scheme to improve two Cumbrian roads has been completed.
Two sections of the A5086 – which links Cockermouth to Egremont – and the A595 at Whicham Valley have benefited from the cash from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund.
On the A5086, £445,440 was spent on the 1,860m stretch from Scallow Farm to Rowrah for resurfacing, new signs and road markings.
The Crossgates to Kirkland section of 1,844m had £619,586 spent on resurfacing of the road and pavements, road markings and new signs.
Whicham Valley had £609,584 spent on 3,016 metres of resurfacing, new signs and road markings.
