
Emergency services were called out to Whitehaven’s North Shore after reports of a person in difficulty.
The ambulance service, Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team and Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team were called to the beach area near North Shore yesterday, Thursday March 28.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team said: “Arriving on scene, we worked alongside medical crews from North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust to stabilise the casualty, then stretchered them to the awaiting ambulance for onward transport to their next level of care.”
Earlier that day, Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team, Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team, the police, ambulance service and Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team were called out to the coast south of Workington.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team said: “We were tasked for our rope rescue capability. The incident was swiftly brought to a safe conclusion.”
