Barrow still look odds on to make the play-offs despite a 2-1 defeat at Morecambe.
In fact it is possible that the pair might meet again in the play-offs as Morecambe are up to eighth after two Easter wins.
It couldn’t have started much better for the home side as they took the lead with only four minutes on the clock.
Barrow didn’t deal with a Charlie Brown corner and in the confusion that followed David Tutonda scrambled the ball home.
Seven minutes later Barrow conceded again. This time James Chester lost possession just outside his own area and Gwion Edwards profited, going round Paul Farman before slotting home.
Barrow could have been level before the break as they enjoyed most of the possession with ex-Morecambe striker Cole Stockton going close twice.
He had a shot well saved by the outstretched boot of Archie Mair and was then thwarted by a brave block from Morecambe midfielder Jake Taylor.
Although they continued to have more possession than their hosts in the second half Barrow couldn’t make any significant in-roads until the 89th minute when Ben Whitfield was following up to steer home a Sam Foley effort which had only been blocked by keeper Mair.
The five minutes of added time made it interesting but Barrow couldn’t capitalise and stay fifth in the table but seven points clear of Morecambe who are just outside the play-off places.
