Thirty-one teams of swimmers took to Kendal Leisure Centre’s pool to raise cash for charities.
The 37th swimathon, organised by Kendal Rotary, saw eight primary schools with 21 teams, Riding for the Disabled, Kendal Sea Scouts, Grange Soroptimists, Mencap, Hydrotherapy Pool and Kendal Mountain Rescue Team take part.
A total of 3,174 lengths were completed – equivalent to 50 miles.
Next year’s swimathon is booked for Saturday March 15.
A Kendal Rotary spokesman said the total raised this year was not yet known, but in 2024, the swimathon raised around £7,500 including Gift Aid.
