The railway between Barrow and Lancaster is set to be closed for at least another two-and-a-half weeks after a train came off the tracks last month.
Operator Northern said disruption was expected until at least April 21 after the train derailed at Grange-over-Sands on Friday, March 22.
Four passengers and four members of staff had to be evacuated from the train. No one was injured.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the derailment, which happened when a section of the track gave way as the train passed.
A hole has opened up in the embankment.
An investigation has been launched into the derailment by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch.
Northern said specialist teams continued to carry out work and repairs to ensure the area is safe for the line to reopen.
It added ticket restrictions had been lifted and replacement transport will continue to run.
