
Only three of the seven fixtures scheduled in the Cumberland County League went ahead on Saturday after another week of wet weather took its toll on the local pitches.
Lewis Jolly scored a hat-trick to help Gosforth to a 5-1 win against Cleator Moor Celtic in the Ken Glover Memorial Cup. Matthew Pilkington and Ryan Gray were also on the scoresheet while Harley Cueto grabbed Celtic goal.
In the Whitehaven Cup Quarter Final, Maryport Athletic booked themselves a semi- final place after a 3-1 win against Aspatria.
On fire Cameron Moir scored once again with Joe Philipson and Alastair Shaw Hughes also hitting the back of the net for Maryport. Aspatria’s goal came from Logan Dixon.
Meanwhile in Division One, a goal from Connor Jackson helped Silloth to a 1-0 victory against Whitehaven Miners Social Development.
