
A cancer health and wellbeing event will be held later this month in South Cumbria.
The event, at Stonecross Manor in Kendal, has been organised by the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust’s cancer services team.
People recently diagnosed with cancer or who have received cancer treatment in the past, are invited to attend the event which is designed to support patients, living with and following cancer treatment, along with their families or carers.
It will be running between 10am and 3pm on April 19 and people can drop in to browse information stalls and talk to representatives.
Experts from the following departments, organisations and teams will be present including: Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists, Cancer Support Workers, Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service, Citizens Advice Bureau, Physical Health and Rehabilitation Psychology Service, CancerCare charity, St John’s Hospice Services, Clinical Nurse Stoma Specialists, Bowel Screening, Breast Screening, Stop Smoking Practitioner, hospital trust chaplains (who will highlight the Bay Health Festival to encourage support with physical and mental health and wellbeing), Wig Service, Breast Prosthesis Service, Boots Macmillan Beauty Advisors, and a number of patient support groups.
