Moresby Rangers and Dearham Commercial were both winners in the two West Cumberland Sunday League Premier Division games played at the weekend.

There were plenty of goals at Moresby as they saw-off visitors Bluebell 6-3 to move out of the bottom two.

James Bell led the way with a hat-trick and also on the score-sheet for Moresby were George Frampton, Ellis Trotter and Jamie Martin.

Bluebell, who are now next to bottom, responded with goals from Carl Denvir (2) and Luke Knowles.

Dearham are currently one place better off than Moresby in fourth after they scored a hard-ought 2-1 win at bottom side Thornhill.

Jack Brown and Kyah Grazer scored the goals for Dearham, still on a high after their triumph in the final of the Albert Murphy Trophy. Harry Hodgson scored for Thornhill.

The other games were all in various tiers of the League Cup competition.

The points were shared in the Tier One clash between FC Cosmos and Lowca which finished 3-3.

Dan Hill, Lewis Park and Rhys Singleton netted for Cosmos with Callum Morgan, Kian Goulding and Travis Fyfe ensuring Lowca went home with a point.

In Tier Two Deer Orchard held-off Butchers 5-2 with goals from Luke Graham (3), Luke Ivison and Sam Wright. Ciaran Laverty and Jack Burns responded for Butchers.

There were two games in Tier Three with victories for King’s Arms (6-0 v Swan Inn) and Salterbeck (5-1 v Royal Oak).

Kieran Fraser (3), Taylor Bower (2) and Sam Rowell were the King’s Arms scorers.

For Salterbeck there were goals for Charlie Shaw (3), Paul Monkhouse and Joe Courtney with R. Smith on target for Royal Oak.
