Cumberland County League sides Gosforth and Whitehaven Miners Social met in the Ken Glover Memorial Cup last night.
Miners won the tie 9-0 thanks to Lewis Park bagging himself a hat trick, with two goals from Chris Moore while Brett Smith, Owen Woods and Jamie Thursby also hit the back of the net.
They didn’t need any help but there was also an own goal from one of the Gosforth players.
The wet weather has caused havoc with the mid-week Cumberland County League action.
On Tuesday there was a complete wipe out with Wigton Harriers v Aspatria, Mirehouse v Whitehaven Reserves, Windscale Reserves v Dearham United and Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves v Keswick all postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
On Thursday, Bransty Rangers v Mirehouse and Whitehaven Miners Social Development v Windscale Reserves were postponed and have been rescheduled for later in the season.
