Kendal Town boss Jimmy Marshall is calling for a season’s best 600 plus crowd for tomorrow’s final home game with Cheadle Town.
The Mintcakes, who complete their season next weekend at Burscough, are pushing for a play off spot in the NW Counties Premier Division.
Marshall said: “The fans support this season has been massive and their backing is much appreciated by the players.
“They try and produce the best product on the field for the fans to enjoy, and the performance they delivered last week in a 5-0 win against promotion rivals was terrific.
“If people don’t want to come back and watch that sort of entertainment we might as well pack up.
“We have had over 500 a few times this season and for the last scheduled home game I would like to see us push through the 600 barrier.”
Cheadle are managed by former Workington Reds midfielder Paul Marshall and sit 16th in the table after last season’s promotion.
However, they will arrive at Parkside Road on the back of a 7-1 midweek defeat at Colne when a goal from Paul Jennings in the 88th minute was hardly consolation.
Kendal are in a four-way battle for the last two play-off positions with Padiham, Prestwich Heys and Chadderton.
As they stand going into Saturday the table reads: 4th, Kendal Town played 44, points 76; 5th, Padiham, 43, 74; 6th, Prestwich Heys 43, 74; 7th, Chadderton 44, 74.
Kendal play Cheadle (h) and Burscough (a); Padiham have Bury (a), Ramsbottom (a) and Lower Breck (a); Prestwich Heys play West Didsbury (h), Charnock Richard (h) and Pilkington (a); Chadderton have Wythenshawe Town (h) and West Didsbury (h).
