Contracts worth over £900,000 have been awarded to a firm to help fix Cumbria’s roads.
Cumberland Council has awarded the contracts to Nu-Phalt Contracting Limited, which mean the council will be able to operate a fleet of six jet patching machines from May to September 2024.
The authority said: “This is an opportunity for the council to address pothole issues across Cumberland, using jet-patching technology alongside the council’s existing comprehensive patching and surfacing initiatives.”
Cumberland Councillor Denise Rollo, executive member for sustainable, resilient and connected places, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to award this investment to Nu-Phalt Contracting Limited, who we have used in the past and are knowledgeable about the area that we live and work in.
“Having six jet-patching machines throughout Cumberland will mean we can repair more of our road network, ensuring smoother, safer, and easier road journeys for our community.”
