Workington Comets have rearranged their BSN Series home clash with Scunthorpe Scorpions for this Sunday.

After both teams have beaten Redcar Bears home and away their clashes will decide who goes through from the Northern Group.

Both meetings have been rained off and there has been no new date announced for the Scunthorpe leg.

Because of other sporting events in the town on Sunday the Comets have delayed their start time until 3.30pm.

Meanwhile Redcar Bears number one Danny King has been ruled out of Ipswich Witches’ ROWE Motor Oil Premiership trip to Belle Vue tonight.

It follows his crash at Workington on Saturday when he was brought down by Comets’ reserve Sam McGurk in a painful collision.

Young McGurk’s bike lifted on the first turn of the third lap and collided with the Redcar rider who was brought down.

After treatment King walked away from the crash but misses the match in Manchester due to lower back bruising. The experienced King rides in both Premiership and Championship speedway for Ipswich asnd Redcar.

He hopes to return at home to Sheffield on Thursday, with manager Ritchie Hawkins choosing to book Ryan Douglas to come in as a guest tonight.
