Barrow continue to stutter in their efforts to make the League Two play-offs after another damaging defeat.
This time they went down 2-1 at home to Bradford City who are making a late run for a play-off place.
To rub salt in the wound Tyler Smith, who had been on loan at Barrow five years ago from Sheffield United came off the bench to score a stoppage time winner.
The Bluebirds have struggled in recent weeks and have now lost five times in the last six games with just one point to show for it.
There’s a nervousness about Pete Wild’s side that seems to have arrived at the wrong time of the season, while recent opponents Doncaster and Bradford have shown they are in a better place mentally.
Another former Barrow striker Andy Cook was close to getting Bradford on the mark after 20 minutes but home goalkeeper Paul Farman produced a fine save.
However on 29 minutes the Bantams did take the lead when the highly-promising Bobby Pointon blasted them ahead.
Cole Stockton had an effort cleared off the line in an improved start to the second-half and they deservedly drew level on the hour when Kian Spence fired in an excellent free-kick.
Wild made four changes in the final 15 minutes and there was an opportunity for one of the substitutes, David Worrall but he shot straight at City keeper Sam Walker.
They were into stoppage time when City won it. Substitute Smith did well to get on the end of a Cook flick on and find the net from close range.
Barrow, who entertain already-promoted Mansfield on Saturday, need to win to make certain of a play-off place as Crawley and Bradford City are pushing for that final spot and have easier-looking games ahead.
