Cumbrian author to launch novel this weekend

A West Cumbrian author will launch her debut young readers’ novel this weekend at at event.

Helen Sharpe’s Captain Black Heart & The Ghosts of Sea Cove Bay is a tale woven from the real-life adventures of her sons and infused
with a touch of pirate magic.

Captain Black Heart & The Ghosts of Sea Cove Bay takes young readers on a thrilling journey along the stunning coastline of St Bees and Fleswick Bay, where siblings embark on a series of exciting quests inspired by local folklore and history, all with a dash of pirate spirit.

To celebrate the book’s launch, Helen, of St Bees, will be hosting an event tomorrow, Saturday April 27, at St Bees Priory from 2pm to 4pm.

The event will include talks and storytelling by the author, offering insights into the book’s creation and local inspiration, activities for children aged 10 to 13,
refreshments, book signings and goodie bags.
