Whitehaven have added two forwards on loan ahead of their home clash with Featherstone Rovers on Sunday.

Huw Worthington is no stranger to the Ortus Rec having played for Wales versus Cumbria in Kyle Amor’s testimonial hosted by the club in October.

He has subsequently played in Australia and also the UK and he joins the club on a month’s trial.

Head coach Jonty Gorley said: “We got in touch with him last week after he had played a few games for London Reserves and I’ve spoken to Mike Eccles about him. He’s played Down Under with Roosters reserves last year so he’s no mug.”

Also joining Haven is Dan Hindmarsh, a London Broncos product who made his Super League debut for the Broncos in 2019 and joined Castleford ahead of the 2024 campaign signing from Queensland Cup side Northern Pride.

Gorley added: “I have to say fair play to Castleford who have been great with us and they’ve helped us out with Dan for the next couple of weeks.

“He’s a big lad and another good middle who’s played at a decent level. We haven’t had a lot of middles so he will fit in really well. He’s a good carrier of the ball and gives us much needed support in the middle.”
