Workington Town made it four wins on the trot when they saw off the challenge of Cornwall at the Fibrus Community Stadium.
Town were comfortable 52-18 winners in the end to move third in the table, beaten twice in the opening games by the only two sides ahead of them.
Yet it had been an uncomfortable start for Anthony Murray’s men as they had Jake Lightowler yellow-carded on four minutes and two minutes later the Chough’s took the lead with a try under the posts by Baley Black which was converted by Cameron Brown.
Exactly the same happened for Town to draw level. Coby Nichol was yellow-carded for Cornwall after a professional foul on 15 minutes and a minute later Town scored.
Matty Henson scooted over for the try and Carl Forber knocked over the conversion.

Cornwall were still down to 12 men when Town scored again. Jordan Burns put in a great burst and drew the last man before sending Jarrod Sammut in for the try, again converted by Forber.
The Choughs were competitive in the first half and Town only led 18-6 at the break after Henson barged over for his second try five minutes before the interval. Forber converted.
Any thoughts Cornwall might have had of making a game of it were blown away by an explosive start to the second-half by Town as they scored three tries in the first five minutes, all converted by Forber.

Tyler Walton raced through an inviting gap on 41 minutes; Burns went 60 yards a minute later for an individual try and on 45 minutes Sammut scored his second after following up his own kick.
At 36-6 it was suddenly all over, although there was encouragement for the Choughs on 56 minutes when Nathan Conroy got over for a try which was converted by Brown. .

But Town again responded with back-to-back tries from Jack Stephenson and Sammut, to complete his hat-trick with Forber converted both.
Cornwall weren’t helping themselves with their ill-discipline and suffered another yellow card after which Johnny Hutton went over in the corner – producing Forber’s first missed conversion.
The visitors did have the final word late on when Brown scored their third try, again converted by himself, but far too little too late.

Workington’s new Maltese recruit Zarrin Galea watched the game without being involved on the pitch and will have another week to get acclimatised ahead of next Sunday’s game at home to Midlands Hurricanes.
Town have also announced that they have signed the Fijian international Lasarusa Tabu who spent time in the Championship last season with Whitehaven.
All three of Town’s overseas recruits – Galea, Tabu and Pone Tongia were at the game, and all three should figure against the Hurricanes.
