Carlisle United are to release eight players while five others who have been on loan are going back to their parent clubs.

Josh Emmanuel, Jordan Gibson, Tomas Holy, Paul Huntington, Max Kilsby, Sean Maguire, Kai Nugent and Corey Whelan are the ones who have not been retained for next season.

It leaves United with 18 players who are already contracted for the 2024/25 season.

They are Jack Armer, Luke Armstrong, Ben Barclay, Gabe Breeze, Dan Butterworth, Taylor Charters, Jack Ellis, Callum Guy, Jayden Harris, Georgie Kelly, Sam Lavelle, Harry Lewis, Alfie McCalmont, Dylan McGeouch, Jon Mellish, Harrison Neal, Jack Robinson and Josh Vela.

Anton Dudik has been offered a new deal while the four second-year youth players who have been offered a third-year scholarship are Jake Allan, Josh O’Brien, Aran Fitzpatrick and Sam Hetherington.

On their way back to parent clubs after their loan deals are Terry Ablade, Jokull Andresson, Fin Back, Jack Diamond and Josh Kayode.
