Cockermouth were 6-0 winners over Whitehaven Miners Social Development last night to extend their lead at the top of the County League Division One table by five points.

Luke Graham was in red-hot finishing form and scored five of the goals with Sam Wright netting the other one to help widen the gap over second placed Keswick.

Cockermouth now only have one league match remaining and it is against Keswick on Saturday May 11. However, Keswick have two league games to play before that top of the table meeting.

Meanwhile in Division One, Mirehouse edged past Whitehaven AFC Reserves 4-3 in a thrilling encounter. Callum Wilson hit two for Mirehouse with Reece Haley and Ryan O’Pray also netting. Whitehaven’s goals were scored by Shane Tyson (2) and Will Starkey.

In the Divisional Cup Group A, Alfie West netted for Keswick as they beat Wigton Harriers 1-0.
