Keswick are up for the Cup! The Davidson Park side are heading for Darlington Mowden Park on Sunday for their Papa Johns Cup final against Olney.

A series of matches are being staged on Sunday and Keswick’s game is the Regional North Shield final which is last on at 5pm.

Olney play at the same Regional 2 level as Keswick in Midlands East where they finished sixth in the table with 52 points.

On their route to the final they have beaten Mellish, Towcester and last Saturday they overwhelmed Winnington Park 55-15.

Keswick chairman Trevor Keough said: “We know nothing about them at all, apart from they finished in a similar league position as West Hartlepool the team we beat last week to make the final.

“We are all looking forward to the game and are taking two coaches of supporters as people have been getting behind us as we have progressed.

“Unfortunately, we will not be quite at full strength as one of our leading forwards Stephen Moss suffered a serious ankle injury in the semi-final win over West Hartlepool.

“Apart from Stephen’s absence we will be at full strength and looking forward to a big performance from the team.”

Penrith missed out on a Papa Johns final place when they lost 50-44 at Leek.
