Whitehaven’s TSB branch has been named among 36 to close this year.
The bank, on Lowther Street, will close its doors for the final time on September 4.
Ten branches have already been closed over the 12 months as the way people do their banking changes.
It said it will open a banking pod in the town, staffed by a money confidence expert, so its customers can get help with ‘most of their banking needs’ it said.
The bank’s review of the branch said nine personal customers and six business customers used it regularly. It said over 95% of transactions are being made by mobile, online and other ways to bank.
The closest branch to Whitehaven after the closure will be in Dumfries, which is an hour and 30 minutes by car, but not served by public transport from Whitehaven. Customers can also use the Post Office.
