Do you know a woman in Cumbria who goes above and beyond to help her community?
Whether it’s through fundraising, campaigning for a cause, enhancing existing schemes or facilities, creating a sense of community, or improving the quality of life for others – if she is making a difference in your community, then she is worthy of a nomination for the Cumbria Women of the Year Awards.
Celebrating the achievements of ordinary women in Cumbria is at the heart of the awards and this year sponsors Nuclear Waste Services; Amentum UK; Muckle LLP and Parks Motor Group have allowed organisers to introduce three additional award categories: Outstanding Contribution, Service to the Community and Special Achievement.
The task of selecting a winner is undertaken by the Cumbria Women of the Year committee, made up of voluntary community representatives from all over the county. Three committee members are former winners themselves.
The awards lunch will be held at Roundthorn Country House, Penrith in October. The event offers women a special day as a thank-you for their contribution to Cumbrian life and honours their successful achievements.
