Dixons has announced it is closing its home store in Workington’s Dunmail Park.
In a letter to its customers, the family-run firm said following a review, it was shutting the store so it could concentrate on the development of its Whitehaven department store.
It has launched a closing down sale.
Dixons built Dunmail Park in 1988, just outside Workington. The firm initially occupied the majority of the shopping centre’s footprint, but moved to its current location when Asda moved in in 2010.
