French and German cars are set to be celebrated at this year’s Cumbria Classic Weekend.

The region’s largest classic car show will return to Dalemain Mansion, near Penrith, on Saturday August 17 and Sunday August 18.

This year’s event will celebrate French and German cars, with additional classes added for each nationality. Owners’ clubs for these makes are also able to have club displays.

Saturday will see the Rose and Thistle Challenge Tour take place, starting in Carlisle and heading into the Borders and finishing near Penrith.

Sunday will then see in the classic car show, which is open to all vintage, historic and classic cars.

Over 700 cars will be on site and arena displays will take place alongside the ever-popular autotest.

Wigton Motor Club have been running the Cumbria Classic and Motorsport Show weekend since 1989 and last year’s show saw over 800 cars on display.

The club are twice winners of Motor Sport UK’s Motor Club of the Year and have recently won the Practical Classic car Club of the Year.

Club members can enter the event for free while entry for non-members is £5, which covers two people and a programme. Dogs are also welcome on site.
