10p swims for youngsters this half term

Children aged up to 16 from Cumberland will be able to go for a swim in a choice of five indoor pools for only 10p over the May half term.

The scheme, which runs from Saturday May 25 to Sunday June 2, has been put in place by Cumberland Council, with the support of GLL and Wigton Baths Trust.

The council scheme will offer discounted swimming opportunities throughout the week.

It will be available at the following leisure sites at allocated times during the half-term:

  • Cockermouth Leisure Centre: Tuesday May 28 to Friday May 31 – 1pm to 1.50pm 
  • Copeland Pool and Fitness Centre, Whitehaven: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday – 1pm to 1.50pm. Sundays – 10am to 10.50am
  • The Sands Centre, Carlisle: Saturday May 25 to Sunday June 2 – 10am to 10.50am
  • Wigton Baths: Monday May 27 – 10am to 11.30am (family swim session), Tuesday May 28 11am to noon (children’s 10p swim), Wednesday May 29 3pm to 4pm (children’s 10p swim), Thursday May 30 3pm to 4pm (children’s 10p swim), Friday May 31 10.15am to 11.45am (family swim session), Saturday June 1 9.30am to 11.30am (family swim session)
  • Workington Leisure Centre: Tuesday May 28 to Friday May 31- 10am to 10.50am. Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2 – 11am to 11.50am
