Workington Comets skipper Craig Cook is a man in demand as he roars back to his best form.
Cook, who switched from Oxford Spires to Leicester Lions yesterday, is guesting tonight at Oxford for Edinburgh Monarchs in a Championship fixture.
The Workington number one has been in top form for the Comets since his return to the track this season.
It’s a tough test for the Monarchs tonight at Oxford Cheetahs as the match comes too soon for their number one Josh Pickering, who is still out with a shoulder injury, so Cook has been asked to guest.
Meanwhile Lions manager Stewart Dickson said of his return to Leicester: “When I spoke to Craig, he was clear that he has unfinished business at Leicester. It never went according to plan for him last year, for reasons that are well documented including the crash at Edinburgh.
“But he is well up for it, I think he’ll do a job for us, and I’d like to think I’ve got the tools such that I’ll get the right response from him.
“I have a responsibility to the owner and to the supporters to give them the best possible team I can, and unfortunately that meant it was bad news for Drew Kemp.
“He’s obviously disappointed, which I expect, but he was very adult-like about it. He knows it’s nothing personal, it’s just the way things are, and we do wish him all the best.”
Cook had only been on a short-term deal with the Oxford Spires, covering for the absence of Lewis Kerr, who is now fit enough to return.
