A new restaurant is bringing an authentic taste of Italy to a north Cumbrian town.
Chef patron Marco Bouguila has opened Mondello Bistro and Deli bar in Front Street, Brampton. in the premises formerly occupied by Walltown Flowers.
He is a passionate advocate for Italian food, especially the cuisine of his native Sicily. Mondello is named after a borough of the Sicilian capital Palermo.
He buys supplies from a specialist Italian food importer and sometimes makes trips to Italy to source ingredients he can’t find in the UK. Even the coffee is imported from Italy.
Marco said: “I am so excited to share authentic Italian food with everyone.
“I’ve developed some incredible dishes including risottos, pasta dishes, pizzas and even Sicilian hamburgers.
“All ingredients are imported from Italy. All the dishes will have a flavour of Italian sunshine. I want customers to really feel they are in Italy, even if the weather is typically British.”
Mondello’s also has a deli counter.
