New Barrow manager Stephen Clemence has made his first signing for the Bluebirds in 20-year-old former Everton striker Katia Kouyate.
The Manchester-born forward has agreed a three-year deal with the Bluebirds after they fought off some fierce competition for his signature.
Kouyate signed for The Toffees aged eight and he made his way to youth ranks at Goodison Park.
In the past two seasons, Kouyate has become a regular name on the Everton under-21s team sheet, and he has made eight appearances in the EFL Trophy over the past few seasons.
He scored a goal from the spot against Morecambe in a penalty shootout in the 2022/2023 season.
Kouyate was among six Everton players who were released at the end of May when their contracts expired.
After signing for Barrow he said: “I can’t wait to get started and I just want to kick on now and show people what I’m about.
“Honestly, I can’t thank the club enough as it’s massive for the club to show the faith and the confidence they have in me, so throughout my time here I’ll be repaying them in the best way I can.
“I play anywhere across the front three but predominantly on the left or down the middle.
“I’m a quick and direct player who likes to take people on one versus one, I like to make things happen and I like to get myself on the scoreboard.”
