A man from Wigton has denied felling the tree at Sycamore Gap.
Daniel Graham, 38, and Adam Carruthers, 31, are accused of causing £622,191 damage to the tree at Sycamore Gap in Northumberland, which was cut down in September.
The pair are also accused of causing £1,144 damage to Hadrian’s Wall, which was hit by the falling tree.
Both offences were alleged to have been committed on September 28 last year.
Graham, from Carlisle, had previously denied both offences.
Carruthers appeared at Newcastle Crown Court and entered not guilty pleas.
The pair have been released on bail and a trial is scheduled to start on December 3.
