Home and leisure store The Range is targeting three locations in Cumbria to open new stores.
It wants to open branches in Workington, Kendal and Windermere – and rumours are circulating that the retailer will be moving into Workington’s Dunmail Park.
Owners Dixons closed its home store at the shopping centre last month after 36 years.
It is expected the Range will open into that unit but nobody from The Range was available when Cumbria Crack attempted to contact the business.
Workington, Kendal and Windermere are listed on The Range’s website as prospective store locations.
The Range said: “The Range is currently going through a period of mass expansion and growth in the UK and Ireland and welcomes landlord and developer interest.”
It currently has branches in Barrow and Carlisle.
It said it was now one of the fastest-growing retailers in the UK and has invited interested property owners and landlords to get in touch.
In a letter to its customers last month, the family-run Dixons said following a review, it was shutting the Dunmail Park outlet so it could concentrate on the development of its Whitehaven department store.
Dixons built Dunmail Park in 1988, just outside Workington. The firm initially occupied the majority of the shopping centre’s footprint, but moved to its current location when Asda moved in in 2010.
