Whitehaven rugby league club has called the shareholders annual general meeting for Friday, July 19.
The last one was in February, 2023 and there have been a number of changes on the board of directors since then.
Chief executive Barry Morgan said: “The current board have brought the club back from the threat of closure by HMRC and other establishments, to a more stable financial footing.
“The lack of gate numbers is a concern and proving to be a constant strain on the board with regards to seeking alternative income.
“Several of the board have left in the past seven months creating more work for those remaining.
“Several offers have been made to previous individual board members who collectively expressed an interest, but no takers at this time.
“The club is doing everything it can with the current financial resources and would like to share successes and perceived failures with its shareholders.”
The AGM is being held in the Garry Purdham Suite at the Ortus REC on July 19 at 7pm.
A message from the board says: “We will endeavour to contact shareholders individually on the current contact details we hold but if you aren’t contacted then please contact us on seeing public announcements.”
