Bakery Lovingly Artisan will have its products for sale in a Lake District supermarket.
Booths in Windermere, which has just undergone a refurbishment, will be the chain’s second Cumbrian store that will have Lovingly Artisan as part of its bakery counter.
Multi-award-winning expert bakers, Aidan Monks and Catherine Connor of Lovingly Artisan, who handcraft sourdough breads, will make 11 of their lines available to Booths Windermere customers.
The bakery counter, open seven days a week, will serve up an array of freshly baked Lovingly Artisan loaves, including speciality breads featuring ancient grains, ryes, malted barleys, white and brown sourdoughs.
Lovingly Artisan was founded 14 years ago to create real sourdough using the best organic flours and ancient grains.
Since then, they’ve established a bakery hub in the Lake District on the outskirts of Kendal and another at Manchester’s Altrincham Market.
The bakery masters have been recognised repeatedly for their skill and passion in the bread world.
This year alone, Lovingly Artisan has been named Food & Drink Producer of the Year at the North West Family Business Awards, Retailer of the Year, Baker of the Year, and Northwest Regional Champion, all in the Farm Shop & Deli Retailer Awards 2024, as well as collecting the award for Britain’s Best Artisan Bakery in the Baker’s Dozen Awards for the second consecutive year.
Booths buyer Keith Parkinson said: ‘’I am extremely proud to have been involved with forging a relationship with such a special business.
“The care, passion, and knowledge of the team at Lovingly Artisan are the perfect mix to produce outstanding products, and it’s a privilege to work with them to offer such fantastic products to the customers of our Windermere and Kendal stores. Special people and special products the perfect mix and just what’s kneaded ‘’
Catherine Connor, co-owner of Lovingly Artisan, said: ‘’It’s amazing that Booths have invited us to provide their customers with our breads in a second store.
“We first started to supply Booths’ customers at the Kendal store in 2022 and that relationship has grown from strength to strength.
“We hope that both like-minded businesses will continue to build on that relationship, as we share our passion for provenance and creating authentic healthy sourdough bread with their customers at the Windermere store.’’
